Bellwether – Ant Series (Wrattonbully Shiraz and Malbec)

Sue Bell created Bellwether at the 1868 Glen Roy Shearing Shed in Coonawarra. A boutique winery, produce garden, kitchen, and campground. This wine is a tasty, juicy wine is 50% whole bunch. 100% whole berry. Natural ferment. 30% new French oak in Puncheon.

Majella Wines – The Musician

Owned by the Lynn family who have been residents of the Penola – Coonawarra district for five generations, starting off as blacksmiths, wheelwrights, storekeepers and finally, graziers. An exceptional wine at the price: vibrant, unmistakably Coonawarra to smell and taste, bursting with flavours of blackcurrant, mulberry and herbs, and fine, elegant and juicy in the mouth.

Rymill Coonawarra – mc² (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc)

Founded by my father Peter in 1974 – Rymill is continuing to create classic Coonawarra drops. This wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure with rich fruits of the forest and a harmonious tannin fingerprint. Merlot encourages softness and juiciness with bursts of ripe blueberries and fresh plum jam. Finally, the Cabernet Franc contributes juicy red currants and cinnamon. All of these flavours meld together to bring a complex and rounded palate, which finishes with soft tannins and chocolatey oak.

Zema Estate – Cluny (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec)

Family owned by the Zema family who originated in Calabria in southern Italy. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are blended to deliver a perfectly balanced wine. Sweet dark fruit flavours and toasty oak overtones meld together to provide layers of complexity and an elegant finish.

Wangolina – Tempranillo

Wangolina, is owned by our good friend and winemaker Anita Goode. It sits between the coastal towns of Kingston SE & Robe in the Mt Benson region. Tempranillo is a variety native to Spain, and is a bight, fleshy, and fun wine. A mid-weight palate brimming with red summer berries, dark cherry and blackcurrant notes. A voluptuous, mouth filling medium boded wine that presents an acacia like chewy tannin. The Tempranillo is sourced from their friends at Wirrega vineyards near Bordertown in the Limestone Coast.

Parker Coonawarra Estate – Interloper (Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec)

John and Faye Parker established Parker Coonawarra Estate in 1985 after a career-long interest in the region. Today, the privately owned Parker Coonawarra Estate is committed to John Parker’s standards of excellence. The Malbec component of this wine is sourced from outside the region and interlopes to similar effect. It’s thick skins produce almost translucent magenta colours and incredibly bright fruit flavours, making it an ideal blending partner for the more structured Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
